Avery Hopwoodspopular three-act drawing room comedy was produced byDavid Belascoto provide his protégéBlanche Bateswith a rare departure from dramatic roles.Nobody's Widowopened on 15 November 1910 for 215 performances at the Hudson Theatre. Bates played Roxana Clayton, who is so disturbed by catching her husband (played byBruce McRae) kissing another woman that she tells their friends he died. He struggles to win her back, but obstacles stand in the way until the final curtain. A silent motion picture version ofNobody's Widowappeared in 1927.
