When a person is engaged in doing something, you cannot expect him to do another job simultaneously

Cf:A horse can't pull while kicking (Am.). A man cannot reel and spin together (whistle and drink at the same time) (Br.). A man cannot whistle and eat a meal at the same time (Am.). No man can do two things at once (sup and blow together) (Br.). One cannot be in two places at once (Am.,Br.).
