GHESQUIÈRE, NICOLAS

(1971- )
Born in Provence, France, he entered the fashion industry upon graduation from fashion school by landing a job atJean-Paul Gaultierin Paris. In the mid-1990s, he was hired to design alicensedline forBalenciagaand, when designer Josephus Thimister left Balenciaga in 1997, Ghesquière assumed the position. His goal is to stay true to the experttailoringthat "the master" made famous.
