GREEK GEOMETRIC POTTERY

An abstract style of pottery prominent in the ninth and eighth centuries BC with strict orderly patterns. In the eighth century BC, some human figures appear, but these are subordinated to the geometric order of the overall scheme of decoration in ordered fields.
