WOOD, CHARLES

(15 June 1866, Armagh, Ireland – 12 July 1926, Cambridge)
He taught harmony at Royal College of Music (from 1888) and at Cambridge University (1897–1924). Beginning sacred composition in his later years, he wrote four settings of the Communionservice, 24canticles, and more than 30anthems. His largest church work isSt.Mark’sPassion(1921), which useschantmelodies and twometrical psalmtunes. (at)
