ZIELIŃSKI, JERZY

A 1974 graduate of theŁódź Film School, cinematographer Zieliński received praise in the late 1970s for his work on several critically acclaimed short films, includingZbigniew Rybczynski'sNew Book(1975) andWojciech Wiszniews-ki'sThe First Textbook(1976) andForeman on the Farm(1978). His stylish photography ofFilip Bajon's first films,Aria for an Athlete(1979),Inspection at the Scene of the Crime, 1901(1981), andDaimler-Benz Limousine(1981), was commended by critics. Zieliński also photographedWojciech Marczewski'sThe Housekeeper(1979),Shivers(1981), andEscape from the"Freedom"Cinema(1990). He began working abroad in the 1980s in Great Britain and the United States, photographingAgnieszka Holland'sWashington Square(1997) andThe Third Miracle(1999), among other films.
