YOSE BEN YOSE

Palestinian liturgical poet (the first paytan known by name). He lived in Palestine. His poems were highly regarded by the Babylonian geonim, and some were incorporated into the high holy day liturgy (notably the Avodah of the Sephardi rite for the Day of Atonement).
