LANDAUER, SAMUEL

(1846-1937)
German orien-talist. He was born in Hürben. He taught oriental languages at the University of Strasbourg from 1875, and in 1905 became director of the state and university library. Later he settled in Augsburg. He published the Arabic original of Saadyah Gaon'sEmunot ve-Deot, as well as a standard edition of the works of the Persian poet Firdausi.
