GANS, DAVID BEN SOLOMON

(1541-1613)
Bohemian chronicler, astronomer and mathematician. He was born in Lippstadt, Westphalia. He studied withMoses Isserlesin Krakow and later settled in Prague, where he was in contact with Johann Kepler and Tycho Brahe. He wrote works on astronomical and mathematical problems, Jewish and general history, the calendar, and the geography of Israel.
