EISLER, MORITZ

(1823-1902)

Moravian educator and historian of Jewish philosophy. He founded and served as president of an organization for the support of disabled Jewish teachers and their widows and children. HisLectures on Jewish Philosophy in the Middle Ageswas one of the first attempts to summarize and present the main systems of medieval Jewish philosophy.
