TETISHERI

(fl. c. 1570–540 BC)

Possibly wife of Senakhtenre, the ruler of Thebes during Dynasty 17, and daughter of Tjenna and Nefru. She was the mother of Tao and grandmother of Ahmose I and Ahmose-Nefertari. She possibly acted as regent for her grandson and played a prominent role in his reign. A funerary temple in her honor was founded in Abydos.
