POPILLIUS LAENAS, CAIUS

(fl. 200–158 BC)

Roman senator. He was consul in 172 and 158 BC. He served in the Roman army in Greece from 170–169 BC and visited Egypt in 168 BC, when he forced King Antiochus IV to halt his invasion.
