RENALDO, DUNCAN

(1904–1980)

Forever associated with the role of the Cisco Kid, Duncan Renaldo had an extensive film career before beginning the Cisco Kid series in 1945, even appearing, with Bob Livingston and Raymond Hatton, as one of the Three Mesquiteersfrom 1939 to 1940. Renaldo’s regular stereotypical portrayal of Hispanic characters qualified him well for the Cisco Kid series, which began with The Cisco Kid Returns(1945) and ended with The Girl from San Lorenzo (1950). Thereafter, Renaldo moved the Cisco Kid from film to television in a series that ran until 1950.
