Westerns in Cinema

LUCKY LUKE (1991)

Terence Hill (director)
The Lucky Luke phenomenon is often unknown to American fans of Westerns, but Lucky Luke in all guises has been phenomenally popular in Europe and in French-speaking countries. The original Lucky Luke is a comic book cowboy who can shoot “faster than his shadow.” In this film version, Terence Hill of the famous Trinity series played Lucky Luke and basically kept his Trinity character but with a little more energy. As sheriff of Daisy Town, Luke, and his talking horse Jolly Jumper (voice of Roger Miller), has his hands full when the Daltons come to town and stir up the Indians. Besides comics and movies, Lucky Luke has appeared in an animated television series.
