Rinehart, Mary Roberts: translation

Born in Pittsburgh, Mary Roberts Rinehart, best known as a novelist, wrote comedy-mysteries under the pseudonym Rinehart Roberts, and also wrote a few successful plays, most in collaboration withAvery Hopwood. These includeSeven Days(1909),Spanish Love(1920), and, based on her 1908 novelThe Circular Staircase,The Bat(1920). Without Hopwood, Rinehart wroteThe Double Life(1906),Cheer Up(1912), andThe Breaking Point(1923), also based on one of her novels, but these works proved less popular than her Hopwood collaborations.
