REEVESSMITH, H.

(1862-1938)
Born in England as Harry Reeves-Smith, he immigrated to the United States in 1887, touring at various times with John Sleeper Clarke,Henrietta Crosman, andGrace George. On Broadway, Reeves-Smith had particular successes opposite a young Ethel Barrymore inCaptain Jinks of the Horse Marines(1901) and Laurette Taylor inPeg O'My Heart(1912). He also appeared in Henrik Ibsen'sThe Master Builderwith Alla Nazimova in 1907, as well asMid-Channel(1910),The Unchas-tened Woman(1915),Polly with a Past(1917),The Gold Diggers(1919), andThe Great Waltz* (1934).
