Born in Leavenworth, Kansas, Brock Pemberton attended the University of Kansas, after which he pursued a journalistic career, serving as drama editor for theNew York Mailand theNew York World. In 1917, he took a position as assistant to producer Arthur Hopkins before branching out on his own to produceEnter MadameandThe Tavern, both in 1920.
