KREMER, THEODORE

(1871?-1923)
The playwright was born and died in Cologne, Germany. He acted in Europe before coming to America where he turned to writingmelodramasforpopular-price theatres. A few were produced in New York; for example,The Fatal WeddingandFor Her Children's Sake, both 1902;The Evil That Men DoandWedded and Parted, both 1903. More important was his fodder for middle American theatre, notablyBertha, the Sewing Machine Girl(1906).
