GRISMER, JOSEPH R.

The actor, manager, producer, and playwright Joseph Rhode Grismer was born in Albany, New York. He was aleading manat the Grand Opera House and the Baldwin Stock Company. His plays were collaborations that involved "doctoring" the author's script, notablyWay Down East(1898) byLottie Blair Parker. He was a two-term Shepherd of theLambs. He died as a result of a streetcar accident.
