CLAPP, HENRY AUSTIN

(1841-1904)
Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, the drama critic and Shakespeare specialist graduated from Harvard in 1860, served in the Union Army, practiced law, and wrote drama criticism for theBoston Daily Advertiserfrom 1868 to 1902, followed by two years with theBoston Herald. In 1902, Clapp published hisReminiscences of a Dramatic Critic.
