BALDERSTON, JOHN L.

The Philadelphia-born writer spent most of his early career in journalism, including positions as war correspondent for thePhiladelphia RecordduringWorldWar I, editor for theOutlook(London, 1921-1923), and London correspondent to theNew York World(1923-1931). His best-known plays wereBerkeley Square(1926) andDracula(1927), the latter becoming a perennial in the American dramatic repertory. During the latter part of his career, he wrote for motion pictures.
