ISHIGURO KAZUO

(1954–)
Kazuo Ishiguro is a British novelist of Japanese descent. Born in Nagasaki, he moved with his family to England in 1960. Although Ishiguro writes only in English, his style often reflects a Japanese literary focus on intricate character development and the themes of transience and loss. Ishiguro’s works include two books in immediate post–World War II settings: The Remains of the Day and An Artist of the Floating World, the latter set in postwar Japan.
