HATTEM, PONTIAAN VAN

Theologian. Van Hattem was removed from his office as minister of the Calvinist church in 1683 because of “Spinozist” sympathies. In 1692, the authorities for bade him from leading the formal meetings (conventikelen) of his fol lowers. His books were publicly burned by the city authorities of Middelburg in 1714.
