Mukri: translation

The Mukri were a powerful Kurdishtribalconfederation that existed for hundreds of years south and west of Lake Urumiya in thePersian Empire. In 1623, they helped the Safavid Persians recapture Baghdad from theOttomans, and they long provided the shah the best cavalry he could muster. By 1900, the Mukru were divided into two main tribes, the Dihbukri and the Mamash.
