Cox was one of several important political officers ofGreat BritaininIraqiKurdistan in the years immediately following World War I. SucceedingArnold Wilsonin October 1920, Cox successfully worked to incorporate Iraqi Kurdistan and its richoildeposits into the new state of Iraq that the British were creating.
