Musa Anter was a famous Kurdish intellectual and writer inTurkeywho was murdered in September 1992, almost certainly by a member of theHizbullah(Turkey), probably instigated byJITEM, clandestine government-sponsored groups murdering Kurdish civilians believed to be supporting theKurdistan Workers Party(PKK) and Kurdishnationalistcauses. In 2006, the European Court ofHuman Rightsfound Turkey responsible for Anter's murder and fined it 28,500 euros. In 2008, these extra-judicial murders of Kurds were associated with the activities of the TurkishDeep StateandErgenekon.
