One of numerous small Kurdish parties or groups during the unsettled decade of the 1970s inTurkey,Ala Rizgarisplit off from the MarxistRizgariin 1979. This new splinter group was sometimes described as Trotskyist and was mostly nonviolent, more flexible in its political position, and also more censorious of theSoviet Unionthan wasRizgari.
