MIELE, CARLOS

Born in Brazil of Italian parents, Meile found himself in fashion but would rather have been an artist or musician. He combines his art with a desire to help the handicapped by employing women in Brazilian cooperatives to embroider, crochet, and create the most amazing clothes. He opened his collection and store in New York in 2002 in the trendy Meatpacking district, although he had previously shown in London. He operates a total of 93 stores in Brazil and is considered one of its biggest designers. He aimed to open his first store in Paris in 2007.
