Born in Venezuela, Herrera founded her company in New York in 1981 and launched herfragranceline in 1988. Her signature is clothing that is classic and sophisticated. In 2004, she was the recipient of theCouncil of Fashion Designers of America(CFDA) Women's Designer of the Year Award. Carolina Herrera is owned by Barcelona-based beauty and fashion conglomerate Puig.
