Born in Rome, Giannini attended fashion school and then designedjeansbefore moving toFendiin 1995. Hired byTom Fordto designGucci accessoriesin 2002, she later replaced Alessandra Facchinetti (after only two seasons) ascreative directorfor Gucci women in 2005. Giannini's goal is to create clothing for women who have a more balanced life in contrast to the sleek, sexy, chic customer that Tom Ford chose to dress.
