Historical Dictionary of the Etruscans

LANZI, LUIGI

(1732–1810)
An art historian who was also one of the key founders of the study of the Etruscans with his work on the Etruscan language (especially on the Etruscan alphabet, even though he linked Etruscan to Hebrew): Saggio di Lingua Etrusca. This was a volume that also covered other aspects of Etruscan life and art. He was also an early collector of Etruscan antiquities.
