GALLESE

GALLESE: translation

A small Archaic settlement in a naturally fortified location of seven hectares (135 meters above sea level) close to the Tiber River, east of the Lago di Vico and north of Falerii, in perhaps what might be considered the northern part of the Faliscan zone. Recent surface finds conclusively show that this site was occupied from the second half of the seventh century BC and the cemeteries indicate occupation that continued until the third century BC.
