He taught composition at the American Conservatory in Chicago from 1925–1962, wasorganistand choirmaster at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. James from 1927–1962, and was a founding director, from 1962–1968, of the College of Church Musicians in Washington, D. C. He composed more than 120anthemsas well ascommunion services, canticles, psalms, and other choral works.
