A student ofHeinrich Issac, he copied and completed theChoralis Constantinus. He brought out the first collection ofmotetsprinted in Germany in 1520, containing works of Isaac,Josquin Desprez, and himself. He directed theHofkapellein Munich from 1523 until his death. His compositions include 8masses, a set of eightMagnificats(one for eachmode), over 125motets, vesperssettings and otherpolyphony, much of which remained in use into the 17th century.
