Credited, along withJohn Dunstable, with the earliestcantus firmus mass, theMissa Alma Redemptoris Mater(c. 1420s–1430s), although the attribution is not certain. He was admitted to the fraternity of Christ Church in Canterbury on 14 May 1423. He composed three cyclicmasses, four other pairs of massordinaries, 19 single mass movements, and about 16motetsand other sacred Latin settings, although there are many other works of disputed authorship that may be his.
