DRAYTON, MICHAEL

(1563—1631)
English poet known for his historical verse but also for his pastorals and sonnets. His outstanding work wasPoly-Olbion, a topographical survey of Britain. Many of his historical poems dealt with figures and events from the medieval period of English history.
