First mention:"Hutchison's Avenue" (O.S. 25 in. 1880). Occupies the site of part of the street formerly called "Seven Steps Alley" (O. and M. 1677-Boyle, 1799). "Garden Court" (Horwood, 1799-O.S. 1848-51).
