DARBY HOUSE

Next adjoining Woodmongers' Hall is Darby House, sometime belonging to the Stanleys. Thomas Stanley, first Earl of Derby, built it (S. 369).

Queen Mary gave it to the Heralds, 1555 (ib. and 370).
