AHamas suicide bomberkilled 30 people and wounded more than 140 others gathered for a Passover Seder in the dining room of the Park Hotel in Netanya on 27 March 2002. This attack was one of the major factors contributing to Israel's decision to launchOperation Defensive Shieldin early April 2002.
