A Jewish group inPalestineduring theBritish mandatethat advocated anArab-Jewish binational state in Palestine.Ju-dah Magnesbelieved that a determined effort should be made to avert a direct clash between Arabs and Jews. Along with others, such as theologian and philosopherMartin Buber, he helped to form in 1942 a group called Ihud. It advocated a binational solution to the problem of Palestine and argued for that view before theUnited Nations Special Committee on Palestine.
