He served in various capacities in theIsrael Defense Forces, including the post of chiefeducationofficer. He was among the founders of thePeace NowMovement and served his first term as a member in the 11thKnessetelected on the Ratz (Citizens' Rights and Peace Movement) list. Retired from party politics, he remains a prominent peace activist and military historian.
