Agranat, Shimon: translation

(1906-1992)
Born in Louisville, Kentucky, he migrated toPalestinein 1930, where he settled inHaifa. He was appointed a justice of Israel's Supreme Court in 1950 and served on the five-member panel that adjudicated the trial of Nazi war criminalAdolf Eichmannin 1962. He became chief justice of the Supreme Court in 1965 and served as head of theAgranat Commission of Inquiry, established by the government in 1973.
