RUDOLPH, NIELSPETER

Director,intendant. In the 1970s, Rudolph was a much-acclaimed director with eight invitations to the BerlinerTheatertreffenand several important premieres to his credit (three of them byBotho Strauss). In 1979 he became intendant of theDeutsches SchauspielhausinHamburg; by 1984, however, Rudolph resigned from that position and embarked on a freelance directing career that took him to numerous venues, including opera houses and film.
