ANDREE, INGRID

Actress. Andree began her career in film and television, playing leading roles in several comedies, but establishing herself as a serious actress in the German version of John Os-borne'sLook Back in Anger(as Alison) in 1958. In the 1960s she began working extensively in theater, beginning inMunichwithFritz Kortnerin his 1967 production ofMiss Julie. During the 1970s she was a member of theHamburgThalia Theater company underBoy Gobert, playing several leading roles in plays byFriedrich Schiller, Henrik Ibsen,Frank Wedekind, and Harold Pinter. In the 1980s she worked extensively withJürgen Flinimand Robert Wilson inCologne. For more than three decades she also worked in the dubbing market, speaking the translated lines of numerous actresses in American, French, and Swedish films.
