Actress. Emmanuelle Béart was born in Saint Tropez, the daughter of the composer and singer Guy Béart. She rose to stardom with her role inClaude Berri's 1986 filmManon des sources, for which she won aCésarfor Best Supporting Actress. It starred her former husbandDaniel Auteuil. She has since become one of France's major actresses, working with bothauteurand popular directors. Béart received international attention for her work inJacques Rivette'sLa Belle noiseuse(1991),Claude Sautet'sUn coeur en hiver(1992),Claude Chabrol'sL'enfer(1994), and Sautet'sNelly et Monsieur Arnaud(1995).
