VANDERMAELEN, PHILIPPE

Born in Brussels on 23 December 1795, Philippe Vandermaelen was a cartographer and publisher. His works includedAtlas universel(Universal atlas [6 vols., 1827]),Atlas de l'Europe(Atlas of Europe [1830]), and two typographical maps of Brussels (1841-1853 and 1846-1854). He died atMolenbeek-Saint-Jeanon 29 May 1869.
