Also called pole-and-live-bait fishing, involves attracting schools of fish to the vessel with live or dead bait, then getting them into a feeding frenzy with more bait and water sprayed onto the sea surface to simulate the behaviour of small bait fish. Fishers use a pole with a short, fixed line and lure, \'poling\' the fish aboard.
