VASODILATOR STIMULATED PHOSPHOPROTEIN

(= VASP)

A 46/50 kD protein that is a substrate for both cAMP- and cGMP-dependent protein kinases and that is associated with microfilament bundles in many tissue cells. Abundant in platelets; phosphorylation of VASP will inhibit platelet activation.
