WHOLEGENOME SHOTGUN SEQUENCING

whole-genome shotgun sequencing: translation

An approach to genome sequencing in which the complete genome is broken into random fragments, which are then individually sequenced. Finally the fragments are placed in the proper order using sophisticated computer programs.
