ZITRON, SAMUEL LOB

(1860-1930)
Russian writer. He was born in Minsk, Belorussia. He studied at Lithuanian yeshivot and became interested in the ideas of the Haskalah. In 1876 he went to Vienna, and later studied in Germany. He contributed to the Yiddish press and to Hebrew periodicals in the diaspora. His writings include studies of the Zionist movement and its precursors, and Hebrew literature.
